Woman Medevaced, Brothers Arrested in Monday Night Assault
Two Norristown men were taken into custody and a woman transported to the hospital by helicopter following an assault on Monday night.
According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, police responded to the area of Haws Avenue and West Airy Street shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday night for a report of an assault that left a woman injured and lying on the ground. On the scene, officers discovered the victim, a 45-year-old Norristown woman, sitting on the on the sidewalk in the 600 block of West Airy Street, reportedly bleeding heavily from a head wound. The victim told police that her assailant, 21-year-old Timothy Byrd, "hit her in the head with a big stick" and then ran inside his residence on the 300 block of Haws Avenue.
