Four weeks. Hundreds of entries. Thousands of votes. Controversy. Heartbreak. Redemption. The American Idol finale? Nope. Patch's Top Dog. And the winner of Patch's Greater Philadelphia Top Dog contest is... Bree! Bree, from the South Whitehall Patch area in the Lehigh Valley, is owned by Brian Hite. "We're humbled we got that many votes. But all the dogs, no matter how they placed, are Top Dogs," Hite said. "Bree will carry on the title in all their names and memories." Patch echoes that - congrats to Bree and to every single great dog that was entered in this contest - the purebreds, the rescues, the old dogs, the puppies, the dogs that make us laugh and lick our faces when we cry. This American Bulldog is full of character.
Patches across the Greater Philadelphia region are on a quest to find the Top Dog in the area, and Norristown is being represented in the competition by Rocky, the Amercian Bulldog. This picture of Rocky behaving himself was submitted into our local competition by Norriston Patch reader Linda Falco and other readers voted in the comment section to send Rocky to the regional competition "This is Rocky, our American Bulldog," wrote Falco. "He is listening to us most of the time, but usually just wats to run around." Rocky will now face the other winners of local Patch sites in eastern Montgomery County. Voting for that competition will open on Monday, July 9, and the winner will then move on to the final Philadelphia-area competition for Top…
