A drunken 44-year-old East Norriton man was arrested last month after he tried to enter the manager's office at Wawa, Whitpain Township Police said. Paul Hinderliter, 44, of the 2600 block of DeKalb Pike, East Norriton, was arrested April 30 for allegedly being drunk inside the Wawa at 1015 DeKalb Pike in Whitpain. Police were called to Wawa shortly before midnight after Hinderliter tried to open the manager's office, police said. When police arrived, Hinderliter was standing near the deli, visibly drunk, police said. He was arrested, charged and later released, police said. Wawa donated more than $92,000,000 to Philabundance to celebrate the anniversaries of several local stores.
Customers of the King of Prussia Wawa at Henderson Road and Prince Frederick Street on Thursday were treated to more than just the morning coffee (which was free, by the way). Employees and customers enjoyed a party atmosphere to celebrate the store's 25th anniversary at the corner location, complete with music, dancing, prizes and cake. Wawa took the opportunity to also announce a donation of $92,527.19, raised through in-store donations in the Check-Out Hunger campaign at area stores. Wawa is continuing to offer free coffee to customers at the King of Prussia and Audubon (2809 Egypt Road) locations throughout Thursday in celebration of the anniversaries (the Audubon location celebrated its 40th on Thursday).

A King of Prussia Wawa customer was leaving the store with her morning tea when she was accosted by a man who demanded her wallet.
According to Main Line Media, a potential robbery victim was able to fight off her mugger with a cup of hot tea. The woman was leaving the Wawa on Henderson Road early Thursday morning, March 7, when she was reportedly approached by a man who demanded she give him her wallet. The woman refused and threw the cup of hot tea she was carrying in his face to fend him off. Officers were actually nearby in a parked SWAT truck and spotted the jilted mugger walking away from the store towards McDonald's. The West Norriton Planning Commission was scheduled to review the site plans at a Monday night meeting that was cancelled due to scheduling issues.
According to the The Times Herald, a partnership by two well-known developers has been in talks with West Norriton for some time to build a Wawa with full-service gas station and an adjacent Citadel Bank branch on the site of the former Gateway Diner site and the former gas station adjacent to it. According to West Norriton Township Manager Jason Bobst, Pinewood Trooper Associates LP, a partnership formed by developers Joseph Botta and Bruce Goodman, was scheduled to meet with the planning commission on Monday night to review site plans, but scheduling problems forced the commissioners to cancel the meeting. William James Morris, 27, of Fornance Street, allegedly flipped out inside the Wawa at Forty Foot and Welsh roads in Towamencin, causing $5,000 in damage
A Norristown man was arrested and charged by Towamencin Township Police Oct. 26 after allegedly causing a disturbance at Wawa at 1401 Forty Foot Road. William James Morris, 27, of the 300 block of Fornance Street, is charged with criminal mischief, terroristic threats, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, police said. Wawa employees told police that Morris allegedly began acting in an erratic manner inside the store and attempted to go behind the deli counter, police said.
