The West Norriton Parks and Recreation Department's annual Easter egg hunt will take place at Jefferson Firehouse this Saturday.
West Norriton Township's Parks and Recreational Department is holding its annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Firehouse Company, 85 School Lane in Jeffersonville. Children up to 9 years old are invited to participate. According to The Times Herald, the Easter Bunny will be on hand and there will be thousands of eggs hidden on the grounds for children to find. Sponsors for the event include Walmart, DiLeo’s Auto Service, Mind Fire Creative, Inc. and Chap’s Taproom & Sports Grill. A dinner honoring the recently retired trio is planned for Friday, April 26 at Westover Country Club.
The West Norriton Township Police Department has announced plans for retirement dinner honoring retired West Norriton Police Chief Robert P. Adams, Deputy Chief Joseph L. Hallman and Administrative Assistant Phyllis Byndas. Both Chief Adams and Deputy Chief Hallman retired on Dec. 31, 2012. Byndas retired prior to that, but all three were longtime employees of the township. The retirement dinner will be held Friday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Westover Country Club, 401 South Schuylkill Avenue in West Norriton. The dinner will feature tossed salad, a choice of salmon or prime rib, sugar snap peas, twice-baked potatoes and cheesecake for dessert. Power was out Friday evening in the neighborhood of N. Whitehall Road and W. Marshall Street after a car struck a utility pole at Whitehall and Lynn roads. A medical helicopter was requested to the scene to evacuate at least one injured victim. This is a developing story.

Two armed men held up the Exxon gas station at West Main and Forrest Avenue on Saturday night.
Neighbors in area of West Main Street and Forrest Avenue were alarmed Saturday night by the sight of multiple police cars responding to the Exxon Service Station. Officers were observed taping off the scene and reportedly remained at the location for some time. According to a report from the West Norriton Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 1401 West Main Street at approximately 8:44 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. On the scene, an employee of the station told police that two men entered the store and instructed him not to move. The men then ordered him to open the register.
