Chief Bono's new initiative hopes to break the code of silence on the streets and get the community engaged in bringing violent criminals to justice
Norristown Police Chief Russel Bono spoke with the Times Herald recently about his new “Stop the Violence Break the Silence” initiative. The chief is asking citizens to do the right thing and cooperate with police investigations into violent crimes. Bono reminded Times Herald readers that time is essential in developing leads in police investigations involving murder and violence. Witnesses with information who don't speak up may be hindering an investigation and allowing violent offenders to continue committing these crimes.
