Norristown Police Offer Tips To Avoid Car Break-Ins

A few simple steps could help keep you from being the unfortunate victim of a crime.

Norristown Police Deputy Chief Capt. Willie Richet is urging Norristown residents to be mindful of securing their cars at all times – especially at night. "Too many [residents] are leaving them unlocked, which makes it very easy for thieves to gain access," wrote Capt. Richet in an email to Norristown Patch. According to Capt. Richet, thieves are particularly active during the holiday season and unsecured autos are a prime target. Police also recommend:  If you are the victim of a theft, call your local police department immediately to report the crime and file a report.  Norristown Police Department – 610-270-0977 West Norriton Police Department – 610-630-1700 East Norriton Police Department – 610-272-0748
