Death Penalty Sought in Kevin Allen Homicide

The Chester County DA has announced he will seek the death penalty against Shakeem Carter, who is accused of the brutal murder of a Norristown teen.

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced Thursday that the state will seek the death penalty against Shakeem Carter, the Norristown man accused of the brutal murder of 17-year-old Kevin Allen on Feb. 12. "The decision to pursue the death penalty is reserved for the most serious crimes and is only reached after careful deliberations," Hogan stated in a release. "After consultation with the police and the victim's family, this decision is based upon the circumstances surrounding the murder of this young man." Chesco DA: 'When We Opened Up That Door... That Was a Doorway to Hell'

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced the arrest of 20-year-old Shakeem Carter, of Norristown, for the Feb. 12 murder of Kevin Allen.

Arrest Made in Death of Norristown Teen Discovered in North Coventry Fire

Chester County District Attorney Thomas P. Hogan will announce the arrest made in connection with the Feb. 12 death of 17-year-old Kevin Allen.

Chester County District Attorney Thomas P. Hogan is expected to announce that an arrest has been made in connection with the alleged murder of 17-year-old Kevin Allen, of Norristown. Allen's body was discovered at the scene of an apartment fire in North Coventry in Chester County on Feb. 12. The death was ruled a homicide.  Hogan is scheduled to make the announcement Wednesday morning at the Chester County Justice Center in West Chester. He and other law enforcement officers will present evidence in the case including photos and weapons. Body Found in North Coventry Fire ID'd as Norristown Teen

Authorities say the body of 17-year-old Kevin Allen, of Norristown, was found at the scene of a Chester County apartment fire last night.

According to Philly.com, the body of a teen discovered at the scene of an apartment in North Coventry in Chester County Tuesday night has been identified as 17-year-old Kevin Allen, of Norristown. Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at Hanover Garden Apartments off E. Schuylkill Road shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Pottstown Patch, and discovered the body at the scene. Chester County District Attorney Thomas P. Hogan told Philly.com that the death is being ruled a homicide and arson investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police and Philadelphia and Chester counties are investigating the case.
