Police: Disgruntled Crack Customer Set Fire to Supplier's Home

A Penllyn man was arrested for arson after allegedly setting fire to the home of the woman who supplied him with crack Saturday night in nearby West Ambler. The man was reportedly unhappy with the quality of the drugs.

On Saturday, May 19, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Centre Square Fire Company and Whitpain Township Police responded to a house fire on the 200 block of Railroad Ave. in the West Ambler section of the township. When an officer arrived at the scene, the first floor of the building was completely engulfed in flames and there was heavy smoke on the second floor. After a joint investigation by the Whitpain Township Police Department, Whitpain Township Fire Marshal’s Office, Montgomery County Detective Bureau and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal’s Office, the cause of the fire was determined to be arson, according to a release from Whitpain Police Department. Drug Dealer Hides Stash in Gas Tank

Norristown police are charging a local man and woman after discovering 18 grams of crack hidden in the gas tank of the vehicle they were in.

According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, a Norristown woman and a Philadelphia man were arrested early Monday morning and are being charged with numerous drug violations including possession with intent to distribute after finding a significant amount of crack cocaine hidden in the gas tank of the vehicle they were driving. Officers encountered 31-year-old Cheri Kavetski, of the 200 block of Stanbridge Street, and 43-year-old Mark Willis, with a last known address listed in Philadelphia, at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, May 14 in the 500 block of March Alley – an area police say high crime and drug trafficking area. Woman Allegedly Hides Drugs in Cop Car

A Norristown woman who was arrested on drug charges reportedly tried to hide crack in the police cruiser that transported her to the station.

According to a report from the Norristown Police Department, officers discovered a bag of crack cocaine concealed in a police car that had been used to transport a suspected drug dealer. Police executed a search warrant on an apartment in the 1000 block of DeKalb Street around 4:30pm on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and found 18-year-old Shahida Bird lying on a sofa in the living room. On a table next to the couch, officers reportedly discovered a cylindrical container directly in front of Bird containing 19 green-tinted packets of suspected crack cocaine. A Norristown man gets busted for dealing crack when he accidentally dials 911 during a transaction.

If you've ever accidentally called 911, you may be able to sympathize with 18-year-old Rashon Downing's plight. Or maybe you won't, since his unintended call to 911 tipped off law enforcement to his alleged illegal activities. According to a report from the Norristown Police Department, Downing, of the 200 block of Fornance St., was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday in the area of DeKalb and Elm streets after officers were alerted by a 911 dispatcher that she had received a call that seemed to be accidental, but in which she could hear a man and a woman discussing what sounded like a drug deal.
