This year's annual celebration of the arts will have live music, dance, art and, for the first time – beer!
Visitors to this year's 4th annual Norristown Arts Hill Festival on Saturday, May 4, will be treated to all of the art, entertainment and family fun they've come to expect from this popular event, with one new addition that's sure to please many – a beer lounge! Local brewmeister, Gretz Beer Co., is sponsoring the beer garden, which will be situated just across from the live music stage for optimum adult enjoyment. Gretz will be providing a couple of options, both in the regular and premium beer choices, and beer garden patrons will be carded and buy tickets for beer. Thousands of area art and culture lovers are expected to visit this year's Norristown Arts Hill Festival and your business could benefit.

The Super Gigante West Norriton Farmers Market is getting closer to opening and they're looking for staff.
If you're like me, you've been passing the old Genuardi's in Jeffersonville for weeks now, watching it transform into the Super Gigante West Norriton Farmers Market. While I'm definitely nostalgic for my Genuardi's days, I'm definitely excited at checking out what the new market has to offer. According to their Facebook page, they'll be opening on May 5, but before that they need to staff up. They're taking applications at the old bank building in the shopping center. When they do open, it looks like it'll be more than just a run-of-the-mill farmers' market. According to their website, they'll offer produce, meats, seafood, a bakery, a deli and even a florist. For more information about job openings, stop by the store at 1930 West Main …

Norristown's newest ethnic delicacy is a French-Vietnamese fusion of deliciousness. Just ask Chef Christopher Nguyen.
New restaurants are popping up in Norristown pretty regularly these days and Patch's latest favorite is the Banh Mi Bar & Bistro on West Main Street, just around the corner from the Montgomery County Courthouse. I've been dreaming about those warm baguettes filled with marinated pork and ham and pickled vegetables ever since the place opened it's doors last month, but every time I try and tell someone about it I get the same question – "What the heck is a banh mi?" Well I can tell you how awesome it tastes, but I'll let Banh Mi Bar & Bistro chef Christopher Nguyen explain the hard stuff. See the video above for a quick primer on Franco-Vietnamese cuisine. --- Related Story New Restaurant Opening This Week

The New York-based purveyor of fast food chic is setting up shop near the King of Prussia Plaza.
Local foodie blogs are abuzz with the news that Shake Shack, the burger joint that makes fast food hip, is opening another Philly-area location in King of Prussia. The New York-based eatery already has a successful location at 20th and Sansom streets, downtown, and reportedly has another planned for University City. Sticking true to that old adage that good things come in threes, the company has announced plans for a third location at the former Wachovia Bank spot at West DeKalb Pike and Mall Boulevard, according to Philly.com. The new Shake Shack will also reportedly be the company's second solar-powered operation with a solar panel array on the roof that will account for an estimated 10% of the restaurant's total power consumption. "We …

I've heard the same thing regarding hiring specific sorts of people. Though the person that had an interview was of spanish decent, apparently he wasn't the right kind.. .. Like Mexican. He was asked how long he was in the country, what country he was from in the interview. Found it to be a little odd.   more ›
