Hatfield Man Wanted for Attempted Murder Throat Slashing Turns Himself In

Thomas Troy Young, 49, of Wheatfield Circle, allegedly slashed the throat of his wife in their home on March 10 and fled the scene. Bail was set at $1 million. He is charged with attempted murder.

HATFIELD, PA — The Hatfield man wanted on attempted murder charges in the throat slashing of his wife has turned himself has turned himself in to police—and remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison on $1 million bail. Thomas Troy Young, 49, of the 300 block of Wheatfield Circle, contacted and turned himself in to Hatfield Township Police on March 15, police said. Young was arraigned before District Judge Harry Nesbitt and bail was set at $1 million cash, police said. A preliminary hearing is set for March 25 at 10:30 a.m. before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser in Souderton. Felony Theft Case Against Pottstown Teen Heads to Trial

Jeremiah White, 19, of the 400 block of North Charlotte Street, allegedly stole a Ford Expedition on Jan. 5 from Norristown, and later crashed it in a Hatfield Township accident, police said.

Jeremiah White's stomach allegedly got him in trouble with the law — and he is now headed to county trial on, among other offenses, a felony receiving stolen property charge. White, 19, of the 400 block of North Charlotte Street, Pottstown, waived charges of felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor accidents involving damage to another vehicle, failing to stop and render aid and following a vehicle too closely Tuesday at Montgomery Township district court, according to The Reporter. White is free on $10,000 unsecured bail, which District Judge Andrea Duffy granted at his preliminary hearing, according to court records. Felony criminal mischief with intent to damage property was held over for Montgomery County court Tuesday against William James Morris, 27, of Norristown, accused of causing more than $5,000 in damage to the interior of a Wawa in Towamencin in October 2012. Other misdemeanor and summary charges were held at the Lansdale preliminary hearing in connection with the incident at the Wawa at Forty Foot Road and Sumneytown Pike on Oct. 26: Four counts of misdemeanor terroristic threats, a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to court records. A Popeye's receipt and a cell phone left behind in a stolen 1998 Ford Expedition involved in a Hatfield Township accident led to the arrest of the suspect — a Pottstown teen. Jeremiah White, 19, allegedly stole a 1998 Ford Expedition from Norristown on Jan. 5, 2013, crashed it on Jan. 18 in Hatfield Township and then allegedly fled from the scene of the accident, police said. Now, he faces felony charges in Montgomery County court. A Lower Providence man is charged with allegedly stealing a van used by Hattricks Bar in Hatfield Borough for designated driving services. Andre Leon Wilson, 38, of the 4000 block of Cardin Place, has been charged with felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor unauthorized use of a vehicle, misdemeanor DUI and driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to court records. Wilson was arraigned Jan. 27 before District Judge Juanita Price of Glenside, who set bail at $50,000 cash, according to court records.  Wilson remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison. The event saw Lansdale Amusement Co. in Hatfield providing 40 state-of-the-art Korean-made VSPhoenix dartboards for the $22,000 dart tournament Friday at the Sumneytown Pike hotel, according to The Reporter Online. The newspaper reports the digital dart machines have remote-play capabilities — you can challenge someone in another country from your neighborhood bar via a special online card — and are complete with surround sound speakers and 26-inch HD monitors. Meth Ring Kingpins Plead Guilty Thursday

Two more drug kingpins in the Montgomery County methamphetamine ringhave pleaded guilty to their crimes. Troy Dudas, 36, formerly of Limerick, and David Penna, 36, of the 1300 block of Cabin Road, Hatfield Township, both pleaded guilty Thursday to their involvement in the ring, according to Peg Gibbons of The Intelligencer. David Penna, however, will not face jail time — he received a four-year probation after pleading guilty to lesser offense. According to Gibbons, Dudas entered an open guilty plea, throwing himself on the mercy of the court. He faces up to 12 years in prison. Raffle Items, Donations Sought for Cancer Benefit for Hatfield Man

A beef and beer fundraiser takes place Friday evening in Lansdale for a local man diagnosed with cancer for the second time

Area businesses have contributed greatly for a cancer benefit this Friday evening for a Hatfield native diagnosed with cancer for the second time in 11 years. However, more raffle items and donations are still being accepted for the event. The benefit seeks to help cover the medical costs for Hatfield native and 1998 North Penn High School graduate Jason Heffner. Heffner, an amateur filmmaker who currently resides in the Juniata section of Philadelphia, is battling cancer without medical insurance. Wiretaps Lead To Bust Of Local Meth Operation

A total of 32 suspects were arrested in connection with a methamphetamine distribution network which spanned from northern Montgomery County to Philadelphia.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman has announced the arrest of 32 suspects in connection with a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation, which spanned from northern Montgomery County to Philadelphia and included 12 residents of Lansdale Borough and Hatfield, Towamencin, Montgomery and Upper Gwynedd townships. Methamphetamine was recovered from a motorcycle repair shop in Lansdale, according to the report, just one of many locations where police executed a search warrant. One of those arrested in charged with drug violations include Ronald Krauss, owner of Bad Ronald's Custom Tattooing in Lansdale.
