Stamp Prices Will Increase in 2013

The U.S. Postal Service is raising the cost of stamps for first class letters by one cent.

It's going to cost a little bit more to mail that letter the next time you go to the post office in Norristown. The cost of a standard, first class stamp will rise by one penny, from $.45 to $.46, on Jan. 27, the U.S. Postal Service reports. This will be the second year in a row that the cost of stamps have risen by one cent. The Postal Service urges its customers to purchase Forever Stamps at $.45 per stamp before the price change. They will also rise to $.46 on Jan. 27. Once bought, the Forever Stamps can be used indefintely and will remain applicable for one-ounce letters, even when postage rates rise. USPS Wants to Make Your Holiday Even Greener

The United Stated Postal Service wants you to save money – and the enviorment – this holiday season.

Holly branches and pine boughs aren’t the only green signs of the holiday season. According to a release from the United States Postal Service, mailers and shippers can also count on their local post office to help them go green, save green and be green this time of year. “The Postal Service is one of the greenest mailing and shipping companies in the world,” said Thomas G. Day, chief sustainability officer. “We offer more than a half-billion eco-friendly mailing and shipping supplies, free package pickup and holiday cards printed on recycled paper available in 2,000 post offices, and the Postal Service is leading the adoption of green practices by engaging our employees, customers and suppliers.”  The Postal Service offers customers …

Metered and kiosk is two different systems. Put a coin in, get enough time to go to post office. I can justify that, a nickel, dime or quarter. Why do we have to pay $2.00 to park to ship a package though our poor bleeding U.S postal service???? Like I said in the 1st post, ill just stick to Ply Meeting, Bluebell or Conshy.   more ›
