Victim Airlifted Following Shooting on Chain Street

One victim was airlifted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania following an afternoon shooting on Chain Street.

A 22-year-old male was airlifted to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania following an early-afternoon shooting on the 600 block Chain Street. The shooting occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety website. Reports from the scene indicate that the victim sustained at least one gunshot wound to the side of his abdomen. He was having surgery as of 2 p.m. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Sunday Morning Home Invasion Under Investigation

One man is in custody and another person is being sought in connection with a shots fired incident that police say may have been an attempted home invasion.

Authorities are investigating what they believe is an attempted home invasion in the 700 block of Astor Street early Sunday morning. Patch readers reported heavy police activity in the area sometime before 6 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24. The incident was originally categorized as a shots-fired call, according to 6ABC Action News. Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono later told The Times Herald he believed the incident was an attempted home invasion. At least one man is in custody and another person is still being sought by authorities in connection with the incident. Wanted Person Apprehended by Police in West Norriton

The unidentified subject reportedly ran into an apartment in the neighborhood to escape police, but surrendered a short time after.

Patch readers reported heavy police activity in the area of Centre Ave. and West Marshall Street in West Norriton Friday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. The event may be connected to an earlier incident reported minutes prior in Norristown, but authorities have yet to confirm that connection. Police say that a wanted person being sought by them ran into an apartment in the 100 block of Centre Avenue to evade them, but the still unidentified subject surrendered to police shortly after. Shortly before the reports of the incident in West Norriton, a reader reported shots fired in the area of Corson and Oak Streets in Norristown. UPDATE: Juvenile Charged With Assault in Connection With Kohn Street Stabbing

A fight between two teen girls erupted into a brawl that left a 12-year-old boy in the hospital with a stab wound.

Norristown Patch previously reported on a stabbing Saturday night that sent a 12-year-old boy to the hospital by medevac. Reports came in just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 18, that a victim with a stab wound in the back was flown by PennSTAR to a Philadelphia-area trauma center from the the area of Kohn Street and Marshall Street in Norristown. Authorities later confirmed that the incident was the result of a fight between several juveniles and one is currently facing charges stemming from the incident. Emergency Services Responding to Stabbing at Chain and Oak Streets

Police are on the scene interviewing witnesses.

According to the Department of Public Safety, police are responding to a report of a possible stabbing at Chain and Oak streets. The report was issued over the DPS dispatch system at 9:27 p.m. Information is still being gathered, but according to reports, the victim has been medevaced by helicopter from the scene. Police are on location currently interviewing witnesses. Unconfirmed reports indicate that a witness has followed a possible suspect to Tremont Terrace (now called Park Place Apartments) at 721 Sandy St. Norristown Patch will have more information as it becomes available.
