David Manilla was convicted of felony aggravated assault in 1995 and was prohibited from owning a gun when police say a stray shot during a hunting trip killed a Quakertown man.
According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, 51-year-old David Manilla, of Worcester, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 18, to possession of firearms by a convicted felon. The case resulted from the investigation of a fatal hunting accident in Bucks County in 2010 that resulted in the death of another hunter, 53-year-old Barry Groh, of Quakertown. According to Philly.com, Groh's body was discovered on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 lying in a creek beside a dead deer in Richland Township. His gun was found near his body. According to court records, Manilla was hunting with a rifle on his farm at 155 California Road in Richland Township that day. Authorities say a shot he fired killed Groh. Alanah Ross has returned home to Richland Township.
Former missing teenager Alanah Ross, of Richland Township, has been found. According to the Facebook page of Ross's mother, Michelle Long Ross, Alanah has been found after "10 long, frightening days." Ross credited her brother-in-law for helping get Alanah back home. "You will all never know how much your outpouring of love and concern has meant to our family. There is no situation that I can think of that is more difficult than not knowing where your child is or if they are safe," wrote Ross in her Facebook post Tuesday night. A Quakertown girl missing since May 5 was last seen at the Quakertown Relay for Life.
Richland Township Police are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl named Alanah Ross, who was last seen May 5. According to a source, police suspect the girl's boyfriend lives on the 1400 block of Welsh Road in Hatfield Township and have approached local businesses asking for help in the investigation. Ross has brown-blonde hair and brown eyes. She is 5' 4" tall and weighs 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing black skinny jeans with holes in the front and a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt.
