Man Has Stolen Motorcycle Returned by Police, Stolen Again Next Day

Police recovered the motorcycle on July 27 and returned it to the registered owner, who contacted police the following morning to report that it had been stolen again.

A Norristown man recently found himself the victim of the same crime twice in two days, after his motorcycle was stolen one day after police recovered it from a prior theft.

On July 27 at 9:45 a.m., police were dispatched to the rear alley of the 600 block of East Basin Street for a report of a motorcycle that was in the bushes. Police contacted the registered owner of the motorcycle, who stated he was unaware that someone had taken it. The owner then arrived and took custody of the motorcycle, police said.

The following morning, police were dispatched to the registered owner's apartment on the 1000 block of New Hope Street, where they learned that the motorcycle had again been stolen.

The victim informed police that after getting his bike back on July 27, he parked it in the parking lot adjacent to his apartment and used fork locks to secure the motorcycle. When he awoke in the morning, the locks had been cut and the motorcycle was once again missing, police said.

The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
