Thief Steals Purse from Woman at Church

The thief stole the purse from beneath a church pew, police said.

A Norristown woman will have to forgive another trespass, after her purse was stolen from pew while she was attending service at Saint Patrick's church.

The victim told police that while she was attending mass around 1 p.m. on July 28, she placed her large black purse beneath the pew where she was sitting. A short time later she stood up and left the area to participate in the service, but when she returned, the purse was missing, police said.

The purse contained a passport, identification, checkbook, debit card and an "Android Cricket" cell phone. The total value of the stolen items is $200.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
